New Lynk&Co 08 crossover to arrive in 2024 as Volvo XC60 sibling A hybrid SUV based on Volvo/Geely’s CMA 2.0 platform and taking design cues from the radical concept Lynk&Co has fully revealed its new 08 hybrid SUV, which will arrive in Europe next year. The Geely-owned brand’s seventh model, a sibling to the next-generation Volvo XC60, will go on sale in China from the second half of 2023. It is then expected to go on sale in selected foreign markets from 2024. It swaps the low-slung two-door silhouette of the 2022 The Next Day concept for a more conventional crossover body style. Two versions of the E-Motive system are planned. The first, called EM-F, is a parallel hybrid setup in which the petrol engine charges a small battery that in turn powers an electric motor for a limited electric-only range. The second engine, called EM-P, is a plug-in hybrid system that allows the battery to be charged at up to 50kW and provides an extended electric-only range.
