Xiaomi Refutes Rumours!

On July 15th, General Manager of the Public Relations Department at Xiaomi, Wang Hua, refuted claims of the release of Xiaomi SU8. He emphasized that all images were "fake".

It may be stated that the rumors started when a famous Chinese website for automobiles posted an article with images depicting a hatchback car with a background text saying 'Xiaomi SU8'. Chinese netizens claimed that the car did show resemblance to Xiaomi’s SU7, thus, causing a ruckus in social media.

However, now that all such claims have been refuted, there is still much talk and anticipation for the next Xiaomi car. Some rendering suggestions for an electric SUV while some still tend to spread more rumors like the cars secret code name being MX11. Many suggest whatever or whenever the car will be released, at least one can expect it to have similar specifications to the SU7 i.e. pebble-stone style LIDAR, semi hidden door handles, Saturn ring lights etc. Some may go as far as to suggest the shape being slender from the front and hatchback from behind. 

What so ever the case, it is highly unlikely that anytime soon a new Xiaomi car shall be released.

Most suggest that 2025, however, may be different.
