First Look: XIAOPENG MONA M03!

On July 3, Xiaopeng officially revealed its XIAOPENG MONA M03, the first car in its new series MONA acronym for MADE OF AI.

The Xiaopeng-Didi collaborated model rumored to have the world's lowest drag coefficient among mass-produced pure electric hatchbacks is said to display a final wind resistance coefficient of 0.194 and a maximum range of 620km, focusing on the market price bracket of less than 200,000 yuan. Although information or images of the interior have still not been disclosed, bookings have opened. The car is set to release in August 2024.

The new design is based on the "Smart Design AI Quantitive Aesthetics" design. With a "010" light design built by installing 300 LED lamp beads altogether, the digital starlight group can illuminate up to 150 meters ahead.

Special attention was given to aerodynamics this time around. The officials at Xpeng headquarters released statements that the new model went through 10 wind tunnel tests for more than 100 hours each. The active air intake grille system is claimed to be first of its kind among pure electric vehicles and set as a standard for the whole series. Together with the spoiler, the car design is said to reduce total wind resistance coefficient by 0.023 Cd, which is the lowest among the "global mass-produced pure electric hatchbacks".

Talking about body parameters, it can be seen that it adopts a hatch-back shape and is equipped with a hidden door handle. The body size is 4780/1896/1445mm in length, width and height respectively, while the wheelbase is 2815mm. It provides 18-inch and 19-inch rims for consumers to choose from. At the same time, the new Xiaopeng model is said to come in a total of 5 body colors, the two newer colors being Star Blue and Xinghan Rice.

In the rear part of the car, the electric hatchback appears to have a trunk volume of 621L.

In terms of power, the MONA03 is considered to be dual-motored, each producing a maximum power of 140kW and 160kW respectively. Although the suggested ranges for the version are 515km and 620km.

It is to be noted that with the MONA series acronym“MADE OF AI”, Xiaopeng wishes to promulgate or encourage "equal intelligent rights" and introduce "technology inclusive" models in lower price brackets. The officials at Xpeng have given statements on various occasions that their main goal is to decentralize Xiaopeng's intelligent driving technology to a model of 150,000 yuan or less than 200,000 yuan. Therefore, although the exterior was finally disclosed, it has yet to show off its much rumored core technology. It is expected that the official interior and intelligent driving technology is also set soon to be released.
