First Look: SPYSHOTS FOR MG HS !

July - Spy shots of the much anticipated MG HS set to debut at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed on the 11th of July have been released.

This compact SUV not only carries the innovative spirit of the MG but also has an inextricable connection with the Roewe RX5. It is regarded as its sister model and is highly anticipated.

Looking back on the history of the model, the current MG HS debuted in 2018. With its unique design and excellent performance, had won widespread attention in the market. In 2020, MG upgraded HS, further improving its market competitiveness. However, in the rapidly changing automobile market, four years is enough to change a model from novel to old. Therefore, MG decided to launch a newly designed second-generation HS to better cope with the fierce competition in the compact SUV market.

Although MG tried to hide the exact design of the new HS in the trailer, the exposure of the patented drawings and leaked spy shots have given us a glimpse of what is set to come.

From the side, the glass cover and body metal plate of the new MG HS seem to largely follow the design language of the third-generation Roewe RX5, and even the alloy wheel hub looks exactly the same. This discovery undoubtedly confirms the previous rumors of MG HS being a sister model to the Roewe RX5.

However, in order to distinguish MG HS from its Roewe sister model, SAIC Group has made clever adjustments in it's design.

The front face of the new MG HS adopts a different grille design, and the more sporty bumper air inlet also adds a bit of radicalism to it. In addition, although the shape of the headlights may be similar to that of the Roewe RX5, the unique shape of its interior undoubtedly gives MG HS a unique personality. Although the overall design of the rear part of the car is consistent with the Roewe RX5, the rather simpler spoiler and the detail differences on the tailgate also make the MG HS show its unique charm.

In terms of power, the new MG HS is expected to come in a variety of versions such as gasoline, plug-in hybrid and pure electric, meeting the needs of different consumers.

Compared with the previous generation of models, the new MG HS will improve efficiency and bring consumers a better driving experience. In particular, it is reported that the pure electric range of the plug-in hybrid model is expected to be in a leading position among similar models, which will undoubtedly add an important selling point to it.
